Hi everyone i hope you are all well upon reading this. Well i have reached the end of my first week in Peru, so far so good. I went to a place called Miraflores last night. It is alot busier than where i am living, it's a little bit like our West end in London. There are alot of bar, resturants, clubs. I sat and people watched for a while. I then got talking to a local guy about the area. He told me it;s a good place to be at anytime, just as i thought i was going to have a good conversation in Spanish with this guy, his girlfriend turned up and asked me to buy her and him a drink. At that point i did the old yeah no problem let me just go to the toilet ploy and disappeared. The night life is busy here both inside the bars and clubs and outside. The outside scene is very different from the West end.
Week two begins tomorrow and i continue my Spanish classes and journey deeper into the South American culture. Speak soon.

Glad your starting to settle into Peru and find your feet. Whats the family like your staying with?. Weather this week has turned and we are hitting the minus degrees with heavy frost in the mornings. Presumably none of that where you are. Any other Brits in the area or at school or are you completely emerged in the language. Nik, the eldest moved out yesterday so its just me and Mrs South rattling about in the house. Lisa popped over for lunch today and has been reading your blog but couldnt find out how to reply, hopefully I have sorted that out. She will be travelling in Aug 09 so may well pick your brains for South American tips. Bumped into Dar near NSY and was skulking about with MsL . Bruce says Hi but is not too clever on the technical stuff so thats probably as far as it will go. Well thats it for this one speak soon

As everyday passes i am emerging myself deeper and deeper in this culture, I am enjoying everyday and just taking one day at a time. The weather here is very good, there summer official starts on 22nd December. There are no other brits in my neighbourhood. The school i am studying at they are all Spanish, just how i want it. I think Dar and Miss Laskey are in New York this weekend, keep an eye on him (i know you keep an eye on all of us). By the time Nik comes out i should be well clued up, so anything she is not sure about she can call me, i will give you my number nearer the time. Well Judge thanks for keeping in touch speak soon.

Hola Don
Nothing much happening on this end, just the count down before Christmas. My only source of adventure at the moment is reading your blog.
The girls say Hi, and no doubt they will want to hear more at Chris's birthday party on Friday.
That's all for now.
Hasta pronto
